The Mediterranean Islands

Islands of the Mediterranean ... a perfect way to bridge that gap between school ending and camps, sports, and summer jobs beginning. TS holds the keys to Europe’s private villas in remote locales complete with exclusive access for summer and shoulder season fun. Below you’ll find our hand-selected favorites:

The allure of Mallorca has increased thanks to direct flights from the east coast. It's known for its pristine beaches, rustic countryside, and quaint villages. Mallorca's epicurean pleasures offer layers of complex Spanish flavors with a standout being jamon from the local black pigs. Organic wineries and farms contribute to the island being the “gourmet capital” of the region.

Corsica, the French “scented isle”, is impactful. The air is perfumed with sage and lavender. One of the greatest delights is boating by its limestone cliffs to explore secluded coves, scuba, sail, or simply soak up the sun. For adrenalin junkies, world-renowned kitesurfing allows you to chase the wind. The sophisticated French cuisine served here is not your typical island fare. From this location, you gain easy access to adjacent Sardinia, its Italian counterpart.

Sardinia is one of five “blue zones” in the world, recognized for the exceptional longevity of its population. The local's healthy lifestyle is a significant tribute to the island’s “garden-to-fork” gastronomy. Enjoy the contrast between the glitz and glam of Costa Smeralda and the interior, which radiates earthy Italian vibes. Not to be missed is the lesser-known Maddalena Island archipelago nestled between Sardinia and Corsica.

Pantelleria, Sicily’s little sister, is known as the “black pearl” of the Med. The lava rock from this volcanic island created everything from its Byzantine castle to the pools, coves, and underwater caves. The Mirror Lake of Venus, a romantic heart-shaped thermal lake shimmers shades of turquoise.

Malta, an independent country, is a melting pot of Moorish, French, British, and Roman flavors. Discover ancient fortresses and ornate cathedrals, or relax and enjoy the catch of the day in one of myriad fishing villages.
