Spotlight: Argentina

Rainbows dancing in the mist of Iguazu Falls … Tango dancers passionately embracing … thunderous cracking sounds of glaciers calving … asado sizzling on the barbecue waiting to be dressed in chimichurri.

The rhythm and sway of Argentina is intoxicating. Days are spent enjoying active adventures and epicurean delights. Buenos Aires is deservedly referred to as the Paris of the Southern Hemisphere, with outdoor cafés on sun-drenched plazas and wide boulevards lined with Jacaranda trees. Learn to play polo, catch a football match, horseback ride with gauchos, or simply sip on Yerba Mate, the national drink.

Many of the world's most recognizable natural wonders can be experienced in Argentina. Hundreds of cascades make up mighty Iguazu Falls, and the surrounding rainforest showcases myriad flora and fauna. Argentina is also a gateway to Patagonia. Here, you find everything from steppes to arid deserts, where guanacos roam and endangered condors soar.

The heart of Argentina’s Lake District is Bariloche. This is the mecca for outdoor pursuits including, fishing, hiking, cycling, and skiing. Mendoza produces a spectrum of tremendous wine varieties against the backdrop of the majestic snowcapped Andes Mountains.

Combine Argentina with neighboring Chile and Uruguay to complete the South American triumvirate … or explore the diversity found within its borders.
