Just Back: Greece

Each time I visit Greece, the feeling of coming home washes over me.

I spent a pivotal year living, working, and eating on Rhodes. This locale proved the perfect jumping-off point to explore the cluster of islands including the Dodecanese, Cyclades, and Ionian.

Sifnos is hands down one of my favorite islands. I stayed here in on my recent visit at a boutique property near a local village that exuded undeniable charm. They operate at a pace that forces you to slow down and simply enjoy being. I stopped for a frothy Nescafé to watch fishermen at the dock selling their harvest just plucked from the sea. It was a site to watch the restaurateurs and chefs waiting for their arrival—ready to plan their menu featuring the catch of the day.

Our first-hand knowledge of these atolls is particularly important. We can facilitate the Greek experience that you’re looking for whether you are seeking an intimate getaway far from the crowds or want to immerse yourself in the nightlife … we know where to find it.

The diversity found within the Greek islands parallels the diversity on the mainland. This ancient civilization is home to the clifftop monasteries of Meteora—straight out of James Bond, Delphi where Apollo spoke, and Olympia, the setting of the first games that were held in honor of Zeus.

If the soul of Greece is found in the islands, then Athens is the heart. This multifaceted city enables you to step back in time to a world that boasts antiquity, bustling neighborhoods, and a modern Greek Cultural Center—a true lightning rod for all things history, art, and literature.

The Greek culinary scene belongs to the world’s stage. During my time there, I took full advantage—sampling it all, from refined dining showcasing char-grilled octopus and halloumi paired with tomato and feta to the street vendor preparing lamb souvlaki with tzatziki on a warm pita. Phyllo is another integral ingredient that shines in honey-soaked baklava and in savory spanakopita.

Allow us to introduce you to the lesser-known sides of Greece in TS style.
